Children's clothing: the question is not resolved chemical risk in baby fashion. After our Ministry of Health had ordered the withdrawal from the market of specific branded rabbit fur hooded down jackets BLUMARINE BABY, classified as "dangerous products", now the European authorities extend the ban on sales throughout the Community market.

It is as follows the second LAV survey, TOXIC FUR 2, with which it was confirmed the presence of toxic and carcinogenic chemicals in animal fur trims in children's clothing.

For this reason, the European Authorities have not hesitated to further confirm the chemical risk to consumer health, due to the presence of Hexavalent Chromium (37,3 mg / kg with a maximum limit of 3 mg / kg) in the animal fur edging of the Blumarine Baby jacket.

Here is the card of the Blumarine Baby down jacket withdrawn:

“After the withdrawal from the national market of the BLUMARINE BABY brand garment, therefore, also the European Union has decided to intervene to protect the health of the smallest of its citizens”, comments Simone Pavesi, head of LAV Fashion Area Animal Free.

WHAT IS RAPEX - It is a Community rapid alert system for dangerous products, thanks to which the national authorities of the member states notify the European Commission of products (but not foods, drugs and medical aids, for which there are other ways) that represent a serious risk to consumer safety.

When the dangerousness of a product is ascertained, the National Authority has the right to impose the withdrawal from the market of the product. The provision is then sent to the European Commission (Directorate General for health and consumer protection) informing it of the risks it presents and of the measures adopted in the Member State in which the event occurred to prevent risks and accidents.
