Have you ever thought about living in a school bus? An American mother dreamed of owning a home, but her budget was too limited to allow her to make a purchase: so he thought of creating a "tiny house", a miniature house, transforming an old disused school bus into a functional and welcoming home. Let's see how.

Stephanie Adams documented his story through the blog Tiny Home Bus Conversion, a diary that tells how she managed to create, with creativity, a lot of good will, limited funds and a little help from her loved ones, an essential home, for one or, at most, 2 people, striving to make the most of all the space at your disposal.

First of all, Stephanie bought an old 67m60 XNUMX-seat school bus at an online auction, spending just over two thousand euros, and parked it in the green of a hill, in a quiet but not isolated area.

Then, with the precious collaboration of a willing group of friends and his family, he began the transformation of the interiors, eliminating seats and anything else to make room for furniture and appliances. So, in a few steps and by containing the expense, Stephanie was able to achieve a rather practical studio apartment.

In fact, they found space in the school bus kitchen equipped with sink, worktop, refrigerator, freezer, hob and washer-dryer, as well as shelving wall mounted for storing preserves and dishes; a sofa bed to relax and rest and a pull-out table for eating and working; a bedroom equipped with a wardrobe with sliding doors; a rather spacious bathroom, in which a composting toilet, a shower and a large number of shelves and shelves have been installed. Finally, to complete the work, Stephanie also added some decorative elements, so that her “miniature house” was as personal and comfortable as possible.

Stephanie, who has already started living in her very original tiny house, explained that the space is so organized functional to her needs but that, given that for the moment one of her daughters lives with her, they had to take advantage of the availability of a friend to put aside the objects and clothing that did not find a place on the school bus.

Although she has now completed the work - a milestone celebrated with a small party - Stephanie continues to update the blog, telling her daily life in the house-school bus, which proceeds quietly between little misadventures (the need to replace the refrigerator, still under warranty, after a few days of use, a breakdown in the compostable toilet, subsequently replaced with a normal toilet ...) and satisfactions (like the agreement reached with a neighbor, which allows her to use her wireless for half the fee).

Having little space available is not a drama, concludes Stephanie: on the contrary, it allows you to understand the value of the essential, appreciating the simple things in life, such as taking a walk in the woods or reading a good book, without being distracted by the superfluous.
