Timberland launches the shoe that is disassembled and recycled

Timberland for next autumn launches Earthkeepers 2.0, the line of shoes produced with 80% recyclable materials, specially designed not to be thrown away, but disassembled to recover the raw materials and recycled themselves.

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

If with the Levi's eco-sneakers made using our old jeans, we thought we had found the right combination between being trendy and green at the same time, we had not yet seen the new collection of Timberland footwear to take apart and recycle!

Starting next fall, Timberland consumers will be able to find Earthkeepers 2.0 shoes in all stores (name coming from the environmental website, Dirt project, co-founded by Mark Shearer with the collaboration of Timberland), not only robust and with an immutable classic design suitable for a thousand adventures, but produced with 80% recyclable materials, specially designed for not be thrown away, but disassembled to recover the raw materials and recycled themselves.

This means that every Timberland lover buying a pair of shoes from the Earthkeepers 2.0 collection will contribute arreduce greenhouse gas emissions by 15%. Because their time has come and their potential is exhausted, shoes and boots can be brought back to each store to create new models.

The peculiarity of Earthkeeprs 2.0 footwear is in the sole produced with vulcanized rubber tires, patented technology from Georgia's GreenRubber factory in partnership with Timberland, a process called DeLinking that allows the rubber sole to be recycled over and over again, which is an important innovation. In addition any other material such as leather (worked by the Timberland company in the Sunday Republic), the polyester lining or the metal accessories it can be removed and reused for new footwear.

Although Timberland has obtained the LWG Silver certification (i.e. that at least 50% of the leathers used have been tanned in plants that in turn respect environmental standards) we are not too sure that the new eco-collection will be able to redeem the brand from the accusations made. from Greenpeace and satisfy those consumers who, vegans and vegetarians, are not entirely in harmony with the famous American brand. Also because, Timberland itself teaches: never go against Nature:
