According to the study entitled "The New Plastics Economy: Rethinking the future of plastics," produced by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in 35 years, the oceans could contain even more plastic bottles than fish.
But already, there are over 165 million tons of plastic, so if effective strategies against marine pollution are not implemented by 2025, the oceans will contain 1,1 tons of plastic for every 3 tons of fish up to the overtaking of plastic on fish.
What does this mean? That turtles, fish, seals, sea birds, but also other animals will continue to be the victims of our waste.

The devastating damage caused by plastic rings for cans and bottles is unfortunately not new. These packaging undermine the survival of many species because they become real nooses that lead to suffocation. Not to mention that plastic, mistaken for food, is also ingested to the point that according to a study carried out by Greenpeace today about 70% of seabirds and 80% of sea turtles eat microplastics.
A real environmental scourge, of which too little is said, which has contributed to the plastic pollution of the oceans and endangered marine and terrestrial life.
Even today, in fact, the animals continue to deal with the rings. In the best of cases they manage to free themselves, but more often they get entangled or worse, suffocated.
