He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himThe Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation (SKSFF) in Hong Kong can only survive for another two months, unless it receives urgent donations. For this reason, its founder launched an appeal, a request for help on social platforms to alert supporters and make it known that the shelter was close to financial collapse, given the drop in donations and the inability to raise funds due to the pandemic. of Covid.
In the meantime, in fact, medical bills have risen, with several dogs in need of expensive care. The pandemic has also resulted in an increase in the number of dogs needing help.
"Many people have lost their jobs and many have left Hong Kong, while others are reluctant to commit to a pet for financial reasons, with fears of a looming recession," said Narelle Pamuk, founder of the association.
In addition to stray and abandoned dogs, the shelter also takes care of sick and injured dogs, providing medical and rehabilitation care. Every dog that enters the facility is subjected to health checks, vaccinated and treated for the prevention of fleas, ticks and heartworm disease.
SKSFF also provides food and clean water to stray dogs in the area 365 days a year. These dogs are also sterilized, microchipped and vaccinated.
In recent weeks, the shelter has welcomed a large number of dogs in need of urgent and expensive medical care.
