That of Spencer and Rocky is the story of two dogs, but it is also the story of a friendship that lasted 10 long years, and which unfortunately had to end a few days ago.

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

For ten long years they had never spent a single night apart. Spencer and Rocky have been close friends until a tumor separated them. Rocky is gone and Spencer was heartbroken, didn't eat and didn't sleep until the day he received a beautiful gift: a pillow depicting his life partner who managed to soothe some of his pain.

The two "puppies" always loved being together, their favorite pastime was being around each other, in these long years they have never slept apart, Beth Fisher, the owner of the dogs, told The Dodo, adding:

"Rocky and Spencer slept in the same bed, ate from the same bowl and always walked together when they went out."

Unfortunately, however, the time to spend together for the two sweet dogs came to an end a short time ago: during a visit to the vet, Rocky, the honey-colored dog, was diagnosed with a malignant tumor.

The tragic diagnosis was made too late to attempt any possible treatment, and left only one chance for Beth to end the poor puppy's suffering.

"Rocky was asleep the same day, it was hard to process his sudden death, but we can't imagine how hard it must have been for Spencer to have lost her little brother."

"Ever since Rocky died, Spencer would get up at night to wander around the house looking for his brother, and then start crying because he couldn't find him."

The owners had thought of putting Rocky's ashes on a high shelf, in the exact place where the two slept, to keep the couple close. But it was evident that Spencer needed something more to help him cope with that sudden and devastating grief. So, Beth's dad ordered a personalized pillow with Rocky's face printed on, a pillow that Spencer started sleeping on right away and that seems to have helped fill the void left in his heart.

"I don't think Spencer will ever get over Rocky's death, but I hope he will be able to learn to move forward without him,"

Fisher said, adding:

"We hope that Spencer will be able to find comfort in his new pillow, and take comfort from all the pampering he is getting from his family."
