Chipper is a very special dog. He loves to play with the plastic bottles that he finds abandoned and this passion of his has turned into a real mission. In fact, the dog contributes, together with its owner and other furry friends, to keep the surrounding environment clean by collecting not only bottles but also other kinds of garbage every week.

Katie Pollak is Chipper's proud "human mom", a dog she adopted in Mesa, Arizona when she was a puppy. The animal immediately showed a great interest in the plastic bottles that she found abandoned around. She liked to play with them and collected them, then slowly the "bottle mission" became an almost daily objective.
Now 8 years old, Chipper has become a perfect but somewhat singular "green operator". He and another pet helper, Quinci, often find themselves out and about on their mission to clean up an entire area and do so several times a week.
Chipper is very good at swimming and collects abandoned bottles even from the water.
Of course Katie carries bags with her to collect the garbage and some small bags hang directly on the animal's harnesses. She with her helpers has managed to make several areas shine again since Chipper, among other things, not only collects bottles but any type of garbage is scattered around: cans, discarded clothes and even old shoes.
Chipper has become a bit of a celebrity in Arizona due to his unusual passion for recycling and has even been on a TV show. He is well known on the net and there are over 31.000 people who follow Katie and her helpers on Instagram where she keeps track of their adventures.
Among other things, Katie claims that it was Chipper's interest in garbage collection that inspired her and not vice versa, as you might think.
