This bulldog puppy isn't sick, it's just… green!

A strange and curious phenomenon, but perfectly natural (even if very rare): the presence of a particular pigment in the maternal uterus has colored the fur of this puppy

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Nature is always amazing and constantly reveals surprises. As in the case of this bulldog puppy, perfectly healthy but characterized by a anomalous mint green fur. This is not a genetic modification or the mother's exposure to radiation or chemicals: bizarre as it is rare, it is a natural phenomenon.

Mom Freya gave birth to eight puppies last January and one of them was distinguished by an abnormal color of the coat. The green fur, however characterized by brown spots like the other bulldogs in the litter, it would derive from the presence of biliverdin (green bile pigment) in the mother's uterus: the chance of such a phenomenon occurring, according to veterinarians, is 1 in 10.000.

The two Canadian owners of the litter, Trevor and Audra Mosher, had thought at first that the green puppy was stillborn, but instead it is a perfectly healthy dog and well integrated with its seven siblings. Obviously, it was called Pistachio.

The couple wanted to share the strangeness of their puppy in a series of photos on Facebook: the abnormal color should gradually disappear as the dog grows up, which is why they wanted to immortalize it in many shots - in order to keep at least the I remember.
