This Brazilian priest brings abandoned dogs to his masses to find a family that can adopt them

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Dogs rest at the altar during the ceremonies. And it is not a case. To welcome them in his church, in Brazil, is Father João Paulo Araujo Gomes, who opens the doors to all strays allowing them to participate in religious services with the hope that some family can adopt them.

A beautiful story comes from Brazil and in particular from the Parish of Sant'Ana Gravatá, where Father João Paulo, in addition to the religious mission, voluntarily made another commitment: to help lonely and abandoned animals find a home capable of loving them. The parish priest is a lover and a fervent advocate of animals and takes advantage of his homilies to try to convince the parishioners to adopt the dogs who live with him in the parish.

Not just during the homilies. The priest also uses social media, and in particular Instagram, to invite the faithful to take with them one of his furry loved ones. On his Instagram account he shares photos and videos of the dogs he welcomes and that in many cases he finds abandoned or injured on the street. In the meantime, he ensures them all the necessary care so that they can have a better life. He takes them to the vet, feeds them and takes them to mass on Sundays. A gesture that, apparently, the parishioners really like.
