They rescue baby moon bear, transported by motorbike in a tiny cage and destined for a life of suffering and cruelty

A happy ending story for Wonder: the baby moon bear victim of illegal animal trafficking was rescued by Animal Asia

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Wonder: it was renamed the puppy of Tibetan bear (a species also known as the moon bear) that a few days ago in Vietnam was saved from the cruel fate of illegal wildlife trafficking. This beautiful name, which was given to it by the activists of Animals Asia, has a double meaning: the English term can in fact be translated as "wonder", while the verb means "to wonder".

We wonder where she came from, how much she suffered and what happened to her mother. And what would have become of him if he had not been saved from an unknown but certainly terrifying fate - explains Animals Asia Foundation, which managed to save the animal - The only certainty we had was that this little one would soon be in safe, in our care, and he would never have to suffer, feel scared or alone again.

The teddy bear, a female cub weighing just 30 kilos, stood locked up in a small metal cage and was about to be transported to Laos by motorbike, probably in a d

she aunt bile farms. This bear species, in fact, is the most fruity and busiest in the world. Thousands of moon bears are removed from their natural habitats every year to undergo the excruciating torture of bile extraction, used as the main ingredient in many traditional Chinese medicine remedies.

But at least the story of the little Wonder had a happy ending, thanks to the prompt intervention of the Asia Animal Foundation, contacted by a police officer who - thanks to a tip from Education For Nature Vietnam (ENV) - had discovered a post on Facebook in which the bear was put up for sale to the highest bidder. The trafficker ended up in handcuffs. Unfortunately, however, the large criminal network he was part of is still active in the country.

This is little moon bear cub, Wonder, after she arrived at Animals Asia's Vietnam bear sanctuary.Wonder was rescued from an illegal wildlife trafficking operation after being stolen from her mother in the wild. She was destined for an isolated, traumatic and painful life behind bars, either as an exotic pet or to have her bile extracted on a bear bile farm.We got to Wonder just in time. But there are many more like her out there. A gift in your will, however big or small, would help us reach more bears like Wonder before it's too late, and help them recover from their traumatic pasts at our sanctuaries.Find out about how you can leave a legacy of life today: https://www.animalsasia.org/intl/donate/leave-a-legacy/.#Bears #MoonBear #Asia #AnimalsAsia #KindnessInAction #CuteAnimals #AnimalRescue #AnimalSanctuary #AnimalWelfare #Animals #Conservation #Legacy #Will #BearCub #Wonder #BearCubRescue

A new life for Wonder

Fortunately, Wonder is in good hands now and Animals Asia activists are taking care of him. At the moment he is in quarantine, but soon he will be able to join the other bears in the sanctuary (victims of violence and exploitation) and live a life worthy of being defined as such.

We have moved Wonder to our quarantine area, where all new arrivals spend their first days in order to protect themselves and the bears already in our reserve from any infectious diseases - explains the organization - We are convinced that Wonder will become a ' self-confident, happy and playful bear, proof of the unwavering patience, love and dedication of her assistants. However, as with many rescues we made, even Wonder's was bittersweet. We know that there are still animal traffickers out there who are ready to snatch puppies from their mothers and habitat to be sold to dubious, but certainly terrifying, realities.

? Wonder cub update ?Two weeks ago Animals Asia rescued a moon bear cub from the illegal wildlife trafficking trade. We nicknamed her 'Wonder' and brought her to our bear sanctuary in Vietnam. Like all newly rescued bears, Wonder is spending 45 days in quarantine. Quarantine enables us to provide Wonder with 24/7 care and support, while protecting her and the other bears from potential infections. It also gives us the chance to monitor her development and reactions and learn what she likes and needs. But maybe most importantly, it gives Wonder space and time to bond with her carers and learn that she can trust them.Find out all about Wonder's progress and the importance of the quarantine period: https://www.animalsasia.org/intl/media/news/news-archive/rescued-bear-cub-wonder-update.html?utm_source=social&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=social&utm_content=wonderupdate.#Bears #MoonBear #Asia #AnimalsAsia #KindnessInAction #CuteAnimals #AnimalRescue #AnimalSanctuary #AnimalWelfare #CubRescue #Rescue
