They build more than 100 houses for stray dogs by recovering garbage and electoral waste

In Paraguay they invented a way to overcome the age-old problem of stray dogs with "electoral waste"

After the elections, have you ever wondered what happens to the thousands of ballot boxes used or the signs on the streets? It is not difficult to think that everything goes to waste (recycling, we like to hope). But in Paraguay they have come up with a way to overcome the age-old problem of stray dogs and cats.

Here, in Ciudad del Este, a group of volunteers for animal assistance has decided to make the most of those real "electoral waste" to create comfortable houses for homeless animals to be distributed throughout the city. A recovery that started not only from the polls, but also from all the posters and signs that normally cover a city when it is time to go and vote.

During election campaigns, it is very common for various posters and banners to be put up in various parts of the cities. However, as measures are not always established to remove them once elections are over, they tend to stay on walls and other places for a long time, until they fall to the ground, becoming part of the trash in cities.

And here a solution was found. The finished houses, more than 100, were handed over to the rescue groups of the city, which were able to install them in the most critical points to protect dogs and cats. Undoubtedly an excellent alternative replicable in other cities of Paraguay and the world. Let's keep an eye on it now that we too, in just over a month, will go to vote!
