In the heart of the woods, walking light and respecting the silencearea of Nature. That Nature that has so much to tell us, that resounds among the branches of the trees. Sounds sometimes barely perceptible but no less suggestive. What if it were possible amplify them?
How? Thanks to the greats megaphones in wood with a diameter of 3 meters, created in Estonia by students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Pähni Nature Center, a luxuriant forest located on the border with Lithuania and which also offers study courses.
The boys, knowing the beauty of the Estonian woods in depth and fascinated by the natural sounds that can be heard inside them, have thought of a way to amplify this natural music without altering the balance of the forest.
Thus three greats were born megaphones, entirely made in wood and located in a lush wooded area. Photographer Tõnu Tunnel immortalized these simple amplifiers.
Inside, visitors can even stretch out to listen to this special music: just close your eyes and let yourself go to a surreal acoustic experience, made of leaves blowing in the wind, the rain, the sounds of insects and birds and much more. And all completely immersed in Nature.
The megaphones, being made of wood, integrate and do not damage the wooded landscape. And over time, they will be "reabsorbed" by the forest.
One way for tiptoe into Nature, listening from afar and with respect what he has to tell us.
