Street art strikes again. This time to be completely transformed, thanks to the creativity of Okuda San Miguel, it was a abandoned church in Youssoufia, Morocco.
From well-known street art in Madrid we have already talked to you about a deconsecrated church (Spanish on that occasion) to which the whimsical artist has given new life by making it a colorful skatepark.
Question Okuda back it transformed the monotonous and dark exterior of a church in a colorful and curious art object. On the facade of the building the Spanish artist has in fact painted '11 mirages to the freedom', frescoes that surround it from all sides.
11 works made using a very bright color palette and contrasting with each other and formed by triangles that joined together create faces of animals and humans, placed on a bright yellow, red, green and blue background. On the front of the church, a bear on the left and a lion on the right surround the original wooden door, while above, a large bird with rainbow wings flies to the sky.
Then there are scattered a sequence of symbols and motifs, such as three-dimensional stars, trees and Moroccan-style architectural ornaments.
The project was built as part of a British Council street art initiative that takes place throughout Morocco.
