I sand grains they are not all the same. A series of photographs taken under the microscope demonstrates this. The protagonist is the sand of the enchanting beaches overlooking theIndian Ocean.
The photographer Harold Taylor he took care of photographing sand and marine fragments of the beaches of the Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, the Seychelles and La Reunion to reveal the beauty hidden in every grain.
These are places famous for their "white beaches ". But observing the grains of sand closely has allowed us to discover that each grain has its own characteristics and even its own color other than white or beige. The grains of sand, one by one, tell a lot about the geological history of these places.
The photographer obtained these images using a microscope and a macro lens. Thus he was able to reveal the rich mixture of colors of the grains of sand. Taking these photographs was very difficult but the result is nothing short of fascinating.

The Reunion
The fragments collected on the beaches of La Reunion derive mainly from corals, shells, sea urchins and algae of coral reefs.
Mauritius
In Mauritius here is the collection of fragments of sand and thorns coming from the sea urchins, left on the beach.
Sri Lanka
The Sri Lankan sand grains, despite their small size, show traces of the rich environment that forms the barrier Reef and from here derive their fantastic colors.
Maldives
The round disc you see in the photograph is part of a very tiny marine organism. When he dies, his shell becomes part of the marine sediment.
