The legendary snack of the 80s, the Soldino, is back in a limited edition. Let's find out ingredients and nutritional table

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Those who grew up in the 80s cannot fail to remember the Soldino Mulino Bianco, a snack that, despite its great success, was then removed from the market. Now, to the delight of the nostalgic, back in limited edition. Let's find out ingredients and nutritional table.

Il Soldino was among the most popular snacks ever, many of you will remember its soft dough made of sponge cake and cocoa cream, covered with chocolate glaze with the inevitable penny on top.

Suddenly this much appreciated sweet disappeared from supermarkets, initially it was thought that the lack was due to a depletion of stocks, but the reality was more simply that Mulino Bianco had decided to replace the well-known snack with other novelties.

Now, however, the company has made it known that:

The most popular Mulino Bianco snack ever becomes a limited edition to customize.

The pack of 8 snacks, enclosed in a tin box, can be personalized with name, photo and dedication. It is therefore a limited and special edition that will not be found in the supermarket but must be ordered directly on the dedicated website.

The cost is 24 euros, to which shipping costs will be added.

Marketing that points to nostalgia

One wonders why Mulino Bianco has given birth to this operation, complete with a section on its website for products no longer sold but in vogue in the 80-90s.

Most likely this is a marketing strategy that points to the nostalgia of "old" consumers who have remained tied to some products that are no longer on the market. A strategy that leverages memory and tries to recreate an emotional bond, in this case with a food product.

Among other things, it is not the first time that Mulino Bianco has used it. Il Soldino, in fact, had already returned in 2010, always in a limited edition and was presented in Perugia during Eurochocolate.

Many wonder if the flavor, ingredients and recipe of the new Soldino are the same as in the past. We can't be sure of this, but we went to see the list of ingredients and the nutritional table of this snack.

Ingredients

This is the list of ingredients of Soldino:

sugar, flour wheat, coconut fat, water, eggs fresh 10% *, dark chocolate 7,7% * (sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, emulsifier: soy, natural vanilla flavoring), low-fat cocoa 7,2% *, glucose-fructose syrup, cocoa butter, pasteurized fresh skimmed milk, glucose syrup, XNUMX cups milk skimmed powder, sunflower oil, flavorings, lactose, vegetable fiber: inulin, emulsifiers (mono and diglycerides of fatty acids, lecithin soy), raising agents (ammonium carbonate, disodium diphosphate, sodium hydrogen carbonate), salt. * percentages expressed on the finished product.

It may contain traces of: Nuts.

The highlighted ingredients are those that can trigger reactions in allergic or intolerant people.

As you can see, it is a classic snack that, at least in terms of ingredients, does not differ much from many others on the market. What we can highlight is that at the top of the list is sugar, this is therefore the most present ingredient in Soldino (in fact, in the food labels the ingredients are indicated in decreasing order of quantity).

In addition to the basic ingredients: flour (refined), eggs, coconut fat (with which many brands have replaced palm oil), chocolate and skimmed milk powder, we also find mono diglycerides of fatty acids. These are chemical additives widely used as emulsifiers which can also be found under the E471 acronym and are generally made from plant sources but in rare cases also animal sources.

Currently there are no known negative health effects except that, acting like any other fat inside our body, we should avoid exceeding in consumption. The problem is that they are found in so many commonly used industrial products.

The whole truth about the return of the limited edition Soldino Mulino Bianco, between false myths and full of sugars

@Mulino Bianco

As you can see, the quantity of sugar that a Soldino brings is significant (16 grams). Consider that, according to the WHO, it would be good to consume a quantity of sugar lower than 5% of the total daily energy, which is equivalent to 25 grams for an adult (with average body mass index) while for a six-year-old child a about 20 grams.

Of course it is not a single snack that can harm us, if we generally follow a healthy diet and a correct lifestyle. The important thing is that consumption is sporadic.
