Virtual reality could soon change the world of zoos and theme parks. Never again caged animals thanks to an idea of Tony Christopher, founder of the Landmark Entertainment Group.

It will be born in China within the next three years the first virtual zoo in the world where there will be no animals in captivity. The idea is that augmented reality can satisfy the curiosity of those who love visiting zoos without having to exploit animals and force them to live in cages in an environment that is very different from their natural habitat.

The group is already known for having created several theme parks dedicated to superheroes with the use of the best technologies now at our disposal. The project that focuses on the creation of a virtual zoo is called LIVE Center.

Between projections, sounds, images and special effects it will be possible to recreate a theme park very similar to a zoo, which may also include a virtual aquarium and an interactive museum, a digital art gallery and a large cinema hall.

With virtual reality, visitors to the zoo of the future will truly have the impression of crossing the Savannah and closely observing the animals that populate it. A part of the zoo will also be dedicated to prehistoric animals and at legendary creatures of mythology around the world.

From China it is planned to export the idea elsewhere in the world, with the birth of at least 20 or 30 virtual zoos which will each attract from 3 to 5 million visitors a year, according to the creator of the project.

The associations that have been fighting for the defense of animals in the world for years have expressed theirs many times opposition to life in captivity of elephants, tigers, lions, giraffes and more. Unfortunately, many zoos are unable to provide adequate habitats for each of the species they decide to host.

The idea of creating a virtual zoo was born for defend animals and at the same time to offer tourists an attraction that creates in them that sense of wonder that comes from visiting a theme park.

According to Tony Christopher, thanks to virtual reality we can be projected in the middle of the jungle or fly into space. The first virtual zoo will combine fun, educational ideas and respect for animals. What do you think?
