    From Micronesia comes the vegetable skin produced from banana crop waste. The fibers obtained from the scraps of banana pruning are recovered. With these materials a kind of vegetable leather is produced which is currently used to create accessories such as wallets.

    From Micronesia comes the vegetable leather produced from the cultivation waste of bananas. The fibers obtained from the scraps of banana pruning are recovered. With these materials a kind of vegetable leather is produced which is currently used to create accessories such as wallets.





    Banana trees are pruned regularly year after year to encourage the growth of new fruit. Plant waste is normally abandoned on the ground, but now the startup Green Banana Paper decided to retrieve them and use them to create a new one alternative material to genuine leather.

    The first accessories made are colored and resistant wallets, suitable for vegans. The startup has decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to expand its project and reach the international market.

    Wallets created with the new vegetable leather are decorated with illustrations inspired by coconut palms, ocean life and the people of Micronesia.

    The inhabitants of Micronesia are the first to be involved in the project that is providing the population with new job opportunities. Those who will support the project through the crowdfunding campaign will be able to receive a preview of the portfolios.
