How measure air pollution so that everyone can realize the real situation? The environmental issue is attracting theattention of the fashion world. An English artist aims to change the way we view air thanks to The Unseen, an ink that reacts in contact with the air and the wind is that it has become the protagonist of a jacket high fashion.

We can all discuss the temperature and humidity of the air and the speed of the wind, but it is difficult to realize the quality of what we breathe and the levels of pollution. THE colors of the ink used for coloring the jacket they change according to the variations in the air around the wearer.

Ink is sensitive to various stimuli, including heat, UV rays, the presence of pollutants, hydration, chemicals and sounds. The jacket reveals to the wearer if the air around it is really clean. Pollution changes the color of the ink from black to yellow, while other factors bring out tints of blue and green hues.

The special jacket is part of a new Swarovski collection. The appearance of this unusual item of clothing is reminiscent of iridescent feathers of some birds or the scales of tropical fish. Of course, from an aesthetic point of view there is still a lot to work on, but what matters right now is the message linked to this project. Citizens are not sufficiently aware of the quality of the air they breathe and none of us can really know if they are in the city areas better than others in which to spend time to enjoy better air quality. For example, what will the real differences be between a public park and a busy street? It is not the first time that fashion and science meet. We expect more developments and maybe gods simple systems for determining air quality that are within everyone's reach.
