We really know theenvironmental and social impact of the production of the clothes we wear? In recent decades we have witnessed a real collapse in the prices of clothing. Next to the birth of the fashion low-cost, the living conditions of workers and the environmental impact of the garment industry have worsened. The True Cost is a documentary that wants to shed light on the past and the present and seek solutions to build a different future.

The True Cost will be born from below. The making of the documentary will be financed thanks to donations from the supporters of the project. At the base of the initiative we find once again the crowdfunding and the platform Kickstarter. There are 28 days to go until the end of the fundraiser and so far they have been raised $ 5 of the $ 75 needed.

At the moment a trailer has been made and a group of experts from all over the world has been brought together. The money raised will be used for photography and post-production. The film will have interviews at its center with the leaders of the multinationals in the clothing sector, thanks to which to deepen the complex dilemma of the current production of clothes in the world.

The public will be able to observe the images collected all over the planet to document the living conditions of the exploited workers e without rights. The situation at the moment is so serious that a change for the future is immediately necessary. The main objective of the documentary is to publicize discussions on the environmental and social impact of the clothing industry.

Hope is to get one strong reaction of dissent compared to current practices, which leads to a real change. A synergistic approach will be needed, involving the improvement of current policies and regulations and the industry standards, and that gives a shock to consumer habits and their consciences.

    Support the project via Kickstarter.
