Imagine your beloved dog being stolen many years ago and just when you have lost all hope, she suddenly reappears safe and sound. This is the great emotion experienced by an English couple, immortalized in a video that went viral.

Bonnie is a cocker spaniel dog who, in 2014, was stolen from her family probably with the intent of having her mate. But now, with great surprise and emotion, she has been found about 300 km from Durham, the city of Simon and Caroline Hall, the owners who had raised her.

The English couple had now lost hope of seeing their dog again. Indeed, many years had passed since she had mysteriously disappeared and for about 2 years the family had stopped periodically looking at the sites that reported lost dogs in order to find her.

But suddenly surprised, the couple were contacted by a shelter informing them that Bonnie had been found a long way from home, just the day before her XNUMXth birthday. The dog was spotted by a passerby in Wisbech and immediately taken to the Terrington Veterinary Center where she was scanned to see if she was microchipped.

The thrilling footage shows Simon Hall, 50, and his wife Caroline, 48, reuniting with their beloved dog after all these years.

As the Terrington St John Veterinary Center vets who took care of her have reported, Bonnie is thought to have been stolen for breeding and they believe the last litter was born in the last couple of months. In addition, they underline that the dog during the 6 years spent away from home had never been taken to a veterinarian, in fact otherwise her microchip would have been read and the theft would have been noticed.

And thank goodness she had a microchip, otherwise she probably would never have been able to return to her family. Bonnie had to undergo an operation to remove her ovaries and uterus and Mr. Hall said:

“God knows what he's been through. It's not worth thinking about, but at least we can get it back for a few more years and give it some love, care and attention "

Fortunately Bonnie will be able to spend her old age safely and in loving arms. Many other dogs, however, will continue to be exploited to "churn out" puppies, so we remind you not to feed this market but to adopt an animal from the kennel (or cattery).
