We had already shown you the terrible images of the rivers of garbage in the streets of Beirut, now the alarm pollution touches another very tourist destination, which lately is in the spotlight because of the Olympic Games which will be held next August in Rio de Janeiro.
At the base of the degradation and pollution of Leblon beach there is both the payment of sewage in the sea than the poor civics widespread in the city.
In the past the same bay had been several times reclaimed, but it seems that this vicious circle does not want to end. Precisely for this reason, there was no shortage of positions taken by the athletes who will have to compete in Rio. The world of surfing has already cleared Leblon beach from the venues for its competitions. And rowing and sailing athletes follow this trail.
In addition to being a risk for the health of the inhabitants, water pollution and dirt on the beach could compromise the smooth running of the Olympic Games, but local authorities assure that a remediation work is already underway which will contain all risks.
