Give ai homeless the same dignity as those who can afford to buy Abit. Here is the goal of The Street Store, the first temporary clothing store dedicated to the poorest. Offers go off for free and tips for choosing the right size garments. The initiative was born in South Africa and it could be imitated elsewhere in the world.

It is not a question of going in search of makeshift clothes among bins and boxes, but of being able to choose between numerous clothes hanging on hangers, like in a real shop, in order to create a situation of order and greater respect for Rights of those who for various reasons can barely afford to buy a coat for the winter.

In South Africa the social inequality is still a very strong theme, so much so that more than half of the children it lives in a condition of poverty, even though it is the richest nation on the African continent. In each shop the clothes received in were collected beneficence, which are all made available to the homeless and the poorest.

Groups volunteers are present in The Street Store to offer help in choosing the most suitable clothes. On the opening day of the first store, which is located in Cape Town, attendances have reached at least 1000 visitors who were able to choose new clothing items freely for the first time in several years.

Everything is based on the donation of clothes to charity and on voluntary. In South Africa the initiative is open to all those who wish to collaborate and perhaps propose the opening of a new store. While waiting for a real seat, initially the volunteers were satisfied with exhibit clothes along the streets of the city, but the hope is that the project can expand and involve new spaces and helpers.
