To please his son, a dad from Great Britain planted and grew a sunflower as tall as his home (over 6 meters).
A 4-year-old boy who asked his father for a sunflower "as big as the house" gasped when his wish came true.
Stellan Smith has now a 20 foot tall sunflower (just over 6 meters) in the garden of his Hertfordshire home, which is arguably the tallest in Britain.
His father Douglas planted the seed in March when the lockdown began, after buying it from John Butler, famous for growing the tallest sunflower in North America (26 feet eight inches, or over 8 meters!).
With patience and love from that small seed a tall and strong sunflower was born which within a few months achieved the incredible goal of becoming as tall as the house in front of which it was planted.

The photos show young Stellan standing next to his father's work (who also had to build some sort of scaffolding around the flower to keep it in place) but also portray Douglous taking care of his giant sunflower.
