The polar bear in the Chinese mall can't take it anymore, it's going crazy (VIDEO)

Remember that polar bear locked up on display in a shopping mall in China? The animal welfare organizations are not there and sign an open letter to the governor of the region.

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Dinner: the polar bear is still there in the mall. The harrowing death of Arturo, the saddest bear in the world, was not enough to stir consciences. Now Pizza could do the same thing, that bear that is on display in a zoo substitute in the midst of Chinese shopping. This is why many associations have launched a new appeal.

To brush up memory a little, Pizza is that majestic polar bear taken a few months ago in a shopping center, the Grandview Shopping Mall, in southern China, in clear depressive attitudes.

Now, in a new video (below), he shakes his shaggy head under the artificial lights, crouches by a vent to sniff out the outside world, and punches the wall.

The polar bear locked up in a cage, in China, in what has been called "the saddest zoo in the world" is going crazy.

For this reason, in one open letter to the governor of Guangzhou (the region of China where that mall is located), Zhu Xiaodan, ben 50 Chinese animal rights groups have asked to intervene to close that horrible exhibition which, and it seems a paradox, hosts about 500 species, including an arctic fox, walrus, and beluga whale. And not only that: the petition is also a call for the nation's industrial and commercial sectors to block China's growing trend of displaying captive wildlife at shopping malls as a way to entice customers to return.

The video released by Humane Society International (HSI) and its Chinese partnership group VShine, shows the bear in worrying stereotypical behaviors, such as repetitive head swaying, evidence of frustration, and mental decline. HSI has also collected with Care2 and Nato Free Foundation 500 thousand signatures to ask for the closure of the mall's animal exhibits, which, added to the more than 500 signatures previously collected by the Animals Asia Foundation, brings the total to one million global signatories.

From the Capital Animal Welfare Association they declare: “The frighteningly inadequate way this polar bear is kept at the Grandview it is a shameful stain on China that must be swiftly removed. A mall is not a place to keep any wild animals. Pizza will never be released to the wild, but the mall operators should let him live the rest of his days in a facility where he can breathe fresh air and see the sunlight. If it has been decided that he will not leave China, let us at least try to find him a better home in China, but we cannot stand and watch ”.

In short, Pizza and all the other animals that are there deserve much better than being locked in a glass box to attract customers. The conditions in which they are kept are completely unsuitable, nothing further from their natural habitat. And if something is not done they will probably slide further and further into serious and dangerous mental decline.
