He has traveled extensively on a sheet of ice reaching as far as 700 kilometers from his home in the Arctic. This is what happened to a polar bear and according to activists, the fault lies in climate change.

The undernourished polar bear in an ice sheet has long been the symbol of climate change. Now in Russia, the bear has traveled 700 kilometers in the extreme part of the Kamchatka Peninsula, from Chukotka to Tilichiki, probably lost having gone too far in search of food.

When the citizens saw the bear on the beach they were shocked, probably according to activists it traveled on an ice floe and lost its orientation.

"Due to climate change, the Arctic is warming, habitat is being lost," said Vladimir Chuprov of Greenpeace. “The ice is melting and polar bears are looking for new ways to survive. And the simplest way is to move to the villages in search of food ”.

The videos and images show the undernourished animal. Residents have left fish on the beach, but the bear does not seem to take food. However, the animal never went near homes, nor did it threaten people. He remains on the bay, but looks very weak and limped, according to Svetlana Gubareva, deputy head of the district.
