Two professors have devised up and down swings that connect Mexico and the USA along the wall that separates them: a peaceful protest against divisions

They are called pink commas swings connecting Mexico and the United States divided by the wall that runs on the border between the two states for over 3000 kilometers.

Le pink swings they were created by the designer Virginia San Fratello and the architect Ronald Rael. The installation consists of a series of up and down swings that cross the bars of the wall from one side to the other, with the aim of overcoming barriers and breaking down divisions.

Children and adults can indeed stay in touch with each other, interact and play together, remaining symbolically united despite a wall separating them.

The work is one peaceful protest against divisions, in the aftermath of the decision of the American Supreme Court which gave the green light to Trump to start the projects to consolidate the barriers between the USA and Mexico.

As the creators of the pink swings explain:

The wall has literally become a hub for US-Mexico relations, and children and adults have been able to connect in a meaningful way, recognizing how what happens on one side of the barrier can have a direct consequence on the other side as well.
