We live in an image society where looking perfect seems to be of the utmost importance. This is a widespread impression that can even lead to phobia of being photographed, especially when you feel insecure and are not entirely satisfied with your image.

In short, in the era of 'selfies', some people would never want to be photographed, much less find their own image published and tagged on Facebook. Because? It can simply be a question of defense of their privacy - more than understandable - but also of the manifestation of a fear.

Not everyone likes to be photographed, some people believe they are not photogenic or may feel embarrassed at the thought of seeing themselves again in photography or knowing that one of their images published online could be seen by anyone. The fear of being photographed could be associated with scoptophobia, that is to the phobia to be seen, observed and stared at by other people.

Anyone who does not like to be photographed could suffer from low self-esteem. In these cases it might be useful to start a path of acceptance of oneself and one's image. Those who don't like themselves enough when looking in the mirror might feel the same reaction seeing themselves in a photograph.

Here then are the numerous attempts to hide as soon as the 'photographer' friend on duty approaches or enters circulation with the camera or smartphone. Don't you like being photographed? Try to search within yourself the real motivation. If it comes to low self-esteem, perhaps it is time to rediscover your value.

The fear of being photographed could hide insecurities about one's appearance but also the deepest fears. A moment of analysis of one's situation, if desired, could be useful for progressing in one's personal growth. Who does not like to be photographed he probably doesn't even like being the center of attention. But to better face life it may be necessary to learn to feel like protagonists at least from time to time.

If you think you are the only one who is afraid of photographs, console yourself, because this is not really the case. An interesting proves it photographic project started by Mikael Theimer. His passion for photography led him to choose his girlfriend as a model with total naturalness to create some simple portraits.

The girl, however, does not like to be photographed and his reactions in front of the camera are certainly not positive or at least they do not reflect the expectations of the boyfriend who would simply like to have some souvenir photos of the person he loves available.

The skill of the photographer, as we can see from the shots, still allows him to obtain extraordinary images, despite the girl tries to hide whenever the camera lens comes close.

Her beauty emerges very well from the photographs, even if she tries to hide. Maybe he doesn't realize it at all and that's why he keeps running away. If he showed his face, his portraits would probably be much more spontaneous and touching.

Have you perhaps recognized yourselves in similar behavior? Maybe in life you prefer to play the role of the photographer precisely because you don't like being photographed. For once, try to reverse the parts, in complete tranquility and in the company of a person you trust.

Try to be spontaneous in front of the lens without thinking about the results and you will see that the images you get will surprise you. Not for this reason from now on you will necessarily have to accept that photographs of you are published on the Web without your permission. It is simply a matter of regaining greater self-esteem, should it be necessary. And you can keep your portraits completely secret.
