La Hymenopus crowned is a rainforest mantis of Southeast Asia known by various common names, including flower mantis and orchid mantis, who all remember his extraordinary ability to blend in with nature.
Characterized by the brilliant coloring and a finely adapted structure for camouflage, this insect imitates in all respects the parts of an orchid flower, so much so that it is hard to distinguish it even in photos. To make its mimicry perfect, there are its four shins that have the shape of the flower petals. But the anterior pair is toothed and is used, as is the case with all other mantises, to grab prey.

As if all these peculiarities weren't enough, its hunting technique is especially surprising: everything, in fact, is designed to make its prey mistake it for a flower. When they lean on her in search of the nectar, she will be able grab them with his paws and eat them.
