The only lynx present in Trentino is still alive and was filmed in a short video by a group of hunters in the Molina di Ledro reserve, on the slopes of Tremalzo.

La lince eurasica (Lynx lynx), named with the initials B132, was born in 2006 in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland and is arrived in Trentino in 2008, when he was two years old.

In the following years the lynx was constantly monitored by the staff of the Forensic and Wildlife Service, thanks to a radio collar with which the movements of the animal were followed.

The new sighting takes place at more than six months from the last report and confirms the presence of the lynx, which is now found in south-western Trentino: a precious rarity for the area, since this species is at risk of extinction in the Alps, which today hosts only one population present in Switzerland, as well as a few single specimens present in northern Friuli, on the border with Slovenia.

Unfortunately the lynx she is alone and has no partner, therefore at the moment it cannot reproduce and give continuity to the presence of the species.

The confirmation of its presence is however positive since it indicates a good quality of the environment that hosts the animal and, for once, the respect of the hunters, who have spared the animal and collaborated to monitor it over the years.
