Is called Bellion vodka and it is the first alcoholic drink in the world made with NTX technology which promises to significantly reduce the damage caused by alcohol to the liver.

NTX technology is a natural preparation based on glycyrizin which is an extract of licorice root, mannitol and potassium sorbate, developed by the Indian entrepreneur Harsha Chigurupati which passes it off as "an exclusive blend of ingredients capable of protecting the liver from the harmful effects of alcohol consumption without altering the taste of the drink itself".

According to the entrepreneur, who claims to have spent 10 years of his life experimenting with technology, mixing the preparation with vodka has led to a turning point: that of no longer having to worry about your liver being destroyed by alcohol.

“The drink is already on the market in India and in 15 American states. From now on it is possible to drink alcohol, enjoying the drink to the full but protecting the liver and DNA ", says Gulf.

That said so, it might sound: “Drink quietly, it's not bad for your health anyway”. It may be for this reason that the Food and Drug Administration together with the US Alcohol and Tobacco Department have placed a firm ban on the marketing of the natural preparation. According to both, while not denying that the substance has this effect on the liver and DNA, selling the product would mean encourage the use (and abuse) of alcohol.

An immediate response from the Indian company according to which, however, the American government would not give the green light for a mere economic question linked to health care, to proceeds from liver transplants and to pharmaceutical companies' medicines.

Although all over the world, alcohol abuse it is a real problem, we cannot deny that putting technology on the market could be interpreted as a let-through to drink even more.

As the tests carried out have shown, the preparation actually acts as a protective screen for the liver (but not for everything else). The question remains: Is perceiving alcohol abuse as harmless to health really a wise choice?
