As in previous years, two very important diets appear in the first places: the Mediterranean diet and diet Dash, useful for heart and hypertension. While two new diets have been classified: the Keto diet and diet nutritious.

“Whether you are looking to lose weight or manage a chronic disease such as diabetes, the 2018 Best Diets rankings are designed to help consumers identify the right diet for their specific needs,” said Angela Haupt, Assistant Managing Editor. of Health by US News.

To calculate the rankings, experts among the best nutritionists in the United States, dietary consultants and doctors specializing in diabetes, heart health and weight loss were called. Through an in-depth survey, each rated the 40 diets in nine categories, including ease of following, likelihood of short- and long-term weight loss, and effectiveness against cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
