He performed an emergency caesarean in truly incredible conditions. Farmer Chris Rolfe had seen a dead fox on the side of the road, stopping he found that something was still moving in the animal's belly. He made a cut giving birth to 4 puppies.
It happened on the A272 near Cowfold in West Sussex. 24-year-old farmer Chris Rolfe was on his way home when his attention was drawn to a fox lying by the side of the road. The boy immediately approached to rescue the animal, thus noticing that something was moving in his belly even though the animal was dead.
So he took his knife and performed a makeshift caesarean giving birth to four little foxes. Although not a veterinarian, Chris had already performed this operation with an animal from his farm.
The farmer brought the little foxes with him. Today they are seven weeks old and Chris is working in concert with the charity that deals with foxes, to make them grow a little more and then be able to reintroduce them into the wild.
These cute foxes are called Ginger, Biscuit, Big tip e Little tip and they are all fine.
“When I saw the fox on the street, I instinctively came to help it. I had to do the cesarean immediately because every minute can be crucial. After I gave birth to them, I took them to my mother to take care of them for the first few days, ”Chris explains.

Chris's mother has been collaborating with the Fox project for some time and knew how to behave. After cleaning up the pups like mom fox would, the animals were kept warm. Today they grow up healthy and strong and are making a path of reintegration into nature, after six months, in fact, they will finally be free again.
