Le tree barks hardly attract our attention, but if we stop to observe them they might notice it extraordinary beauty and particularities.
To get an idea of how wonderful the trunk of a plant can be, just scroll through the stupendous ones images taken by Cedric Pollet, French botanical photographer. Pollet has traveled and travels the world to capture and document the beauty of nature in the most remote places in the world. In his latest work he focused on the bark of trees and the shots are a marvel for the eyes.
A variety of shapes and an explosion of colors that they remember sunsets, satellite views, dragon scales, dark chocolate sheets, fabrics and painted canvases: a pleasure for those who love colors but also a homage to biodiversity and to nature, always able to amaze.
Pollet's breathtaking shots have been collected in a 190-page publication entitled Bark: An Intimate Lookat the World's Trees. The goal is not only to satisfy the sight, but also to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and fantastic Planet on which we are lucky enough to live, surrounded by beauty.
