A rare and unusual friendship. It is precisely what was born between a bear and a wolf. It seems that Akela, the great gray Lone Wolf from the Jungle Book, and Baloo, the quiet brown bear who taught cubs the Law of the Jungle, really exist.
To document this extraordinary relationship were the photos of Lassi Rautiainen, Susan Brookes and Staffan Widstrand, who immortalized the adventures of the female gray wolf and the male brown bear.
“No one can know exactly why or how the young wolf and the bear they became friends, but I think maybe they both found themselves alone as children. Unsure about how to survive alone, I think they felt safe together ", explains Lassi Rautiainen.
Thanks to the photos and sightings it was possible to discover that the two they share every meal together, bringing their prey to each other. They were spotted every night for ten days straight. They spent several hours together: from 20:00 in the evening, until 04:00 in the morning.
All that remains is to hope that they do not meet human beings capable of holding a weapon and aiming it at both bears and wolves ...
