Thanks to it, the consumption of food is stimulated and exploited local products, with a triple advantage. In the first place, local farmers are protected, by encouraging production given the requests, then they are supplied to patients, but also to hospital staff high quality products, related to seasonality, freshness guaranteed therefore. And last but not least, the polluting factors related to transportation of products that come from much further afield.
Precisely for this reason, Coldiretti today awarded the hospital with the plaque "It is 0 km"Motivating the recognition:" The patients of the hospital of Adria they will eat fragrant and colorful fruit and vegetables from Polesine and Veneto which not only reduce the emission of greenhouse gases due to long transport but it is scientifically proven that a fresher and more genuine diet, with tasty flavors, linked to seasonality, induces conviviality , increases the immune system and the ability to heal.
