An incredible food processor capable of cooking paella is raising discontent in Spain. While traditional platter purists pale at the idea, the creators of the robotic arm insist on calling it another time-saving fixture for today's busy life.

The technology-kitchen combination is nothing new. We have been used for some years now to intelligent robots that knead, mix, grind and even cook food - leaving us only the task of inserting the ingredients into them.

Now, however, a Spanish brand is trying to do more, launching a food processor on the market capable of preparing one of the country's symbolic dishes - la paella. Using this machine is very simple: you set the program, prepare the sofrito, add rice and seafood and let the robotic arm do it all.

Since its first appearance at a fair, about a month ago, the robotic paellero has created discontent. On the one hand, it immediately attracted large restaurant chains and hotels (not just the Spanish ones). On the other hand, however, paella purists reject the idea that it is a metallic and not a human arm that leads the sumptuous marriage between rice, vegetables and fish.

The brand defends itself like this: “It is a multifunction robot, which is unable to cook only paella. It can be easily connected to a deep fryer to prepare fries, or to a grill to cook burgers, or even to an oven to prepare pizza and desserts. It's sort of like an assistant at the end of a hard day's work - it's a bit like using an automatic coffee machine. Nobody sees the machine as a diabolical contraption that steals people's jobs, it is instead the possibility that technology offers to elevate human capabilities. "

A valid help, therefore, not a substitute for human activity, which will take care of checking that the rice does not burn or that the quantity of fish is right. Who knows if the new acquisition of the large family of food processors will succeed in convincing the general public of consumers, who for now seem to prefer the air fryer undoubtedly in terms of kitchen appliances.
