The exciting ultrasound of a beluga (which unfortunately will be born in captivity, like its mother)

SeaWorld has released an exciting video of a beluga's ultrasound. Too bad the cub will be born in captivity just like the mother.

The water park SeaWorld San Antonio (Texas) showed an emotional video of an ultrasound showing the fetus of a beluga in the womb. In the video you can see very clearly the head, eyes and mouth of the puppy that should be born in the next few months.

Truly beautiful images, which went viral in no time. Too bad, however, that the little beluga will not be born in the ocean, but in an aquarium, just like the mother named Luna who never knew freedom, having been born 20 years ago in the SeaWorld park. Here the animals are trained not only to entertain visitors but also to sit still during medical examinations.

“Thanks to this specialized training, beluga whales have learned to rest comfortably and stand still so they can be examined by our vets,” explains the water park staff in their Facebook post. "This recently allowed the veterinary team to visualize an incredibly clear ultrasound of a beluga whale fetus in the womb!"

Luna gave birth to her first puppy named Atla in 2010, born through artificial insemination. But the whale refused the baby, who was raised by the SeaWord staff. Three years later, Luna gave birth to another son, Samson, who she accepted and raised.

The video of the little beluga coming is really sweet, but if you really love animals, you can't enjoy yet another birth that will take place in captivity. Belugas, also known as white whales, are highly intelligent mammals and can live up to 50 years. The gestation of these magnificent creatures lasts from 14 to 16 months. Due to their marked sociability and unique coloration, belugas are among the marine mammals that most of all end up being prisoners in water parks such as SeaWorld.

Exploited, forced to perform in ridiculous shows and live in small tanks, these animals lead a very sad existence and could live much longer in their natural habitat. Even today, too many people contribute to the suffering of creatures such as belugas and dolphins. Very often it is not thought that buying an entrance ticket to a marine park means promoting the exploitation of highly intelligent animals and contributing to their early death.
