The idea of the Cat Care Community is that of to take care of of those cats who are not lucky enough to spend the coldest months at home. To help them survive the temperatures of Riga, some shelter kennels.
We had already talked about how to make DIY kennels to keep dogs and cats warm, but also about the wonderful idea of some students who had created kennels from recycled materials with a photovoltaic roof for stray dogs.

All initiatives that go in the same direction and whose mission is that of help cats and ensure their well-being. The non-profit organization finds many cats on the street every day, some abandoned strays.
And if it is impossible for everyone to find a home, at least they try to overcome the problem of stray dogs by inventing something, for example kennels.
Made by hand, they are gods safe havens for cold winter nights and have been placed close to homes or in crowded neighborhoods, so that in addition to a warm shelter, cats can also find something to eat.
Each kennel accommodates four or five cats, is an isolated and robust construction with two outlets. The first was built last year, now I'm over 80 the cat houses of the city.

“We wanted to build a nice kennel where cats can spend their time even during the day. It is a way to keep animal friends safe and also make the area more tidy, ”writes the organization on Facebook.
But not only that, the project also aims at sensitize the citizens of Riga on the problem of strays.
"We hope that in this way, the people of the area understand that neutering can save the lives of many cats."
