The deer attacks and kills the hunter who shot him

The hunter believed he had killed the animal but when he approached it he was attacked by the deer who bit him and hit him with the horns.

Un cacciatore was attacked by a deer believed to be dead, after shooting him. The incident occurred last Tuesday near Yellvill, Arkansas.

Thomas Alexander, a 66-year-old expert hunter, was hunting deer in an area he knew well when shot a deer from a distance. The man believed he had killed the animal, but when he went to check, he discovered in the worst way that the deer was still alive.

When the man, unarmed, approached the animal, the deer got up and attacked the hunter, biting him repeatedly all over his body and hitting him with his big horns.

Alexander was alone, but he managed to call his family for help. The hunter was promptly rescued, but died in hospital from his injuries.

According to Keith Stephens, communications manager of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, it is very rare for a deer to attack a man to the point of causing death:

"It's strange. This is probably the only time that has ever happened. There was an attack in 2016 in southern Arkansas, but the hunter survived that occasion, ”said Stephens.

How long infrequent, it may happen that an animal that is normally not very aggressive towards humans reacts by hitting to death anyone who approaches it, especially in a moment of pain and suffering.
