To reach the Zhuanshanbao primary school, in the town of Xinjie, in the province of Yunnan, the little one walks in really cold temperatures.
Her red cheeks, her hair and eyebrows white with ice, her hands swollen and red from the cold. So Fu Heng, principal of the school, saw him arrive in the classroom. He then decided to photograph him and tell his story about him and that of many other children.
A story that immediately went around the web, moving the world. We do not know the identity of the little student, we only know that he is in third grade.
"It was the first day of their final exams: temperatures dropped to minus nine degrees Celsius in about 30 minutes that morning."
The principal he said that the child lives away from school, and that he is known as the "class clown", as he always finds a way to make his 16 classmates laugh. Unfortunately, he does not live with his parents, as they both work in larger cities to be able to support the family.
Ice boy so he stays with his brothers at his grandparents. But he is certainly not the only one. There are tens of millions of children who do not live with their parents, forced to emigrate to big cities in order to earn. And the little ones are looked after by grandparents or other elderly relatives.
After the photo of the cold morning journey went viral, many people started contacting the school, trying to contribute in any way to improve the learning conditions of the boy and other students. The principal revealed that the school offers breakfast to him and other children in his situation, but admitted that the classrooms are not yet equipped with heating due to lack of funds.
Within hours, the school received about $ 15.000 in donations as well as 20 heating appliances and 144 sets of warm clothes.
