The date for its launch could not fail to be close to the end of the year. After the 40th anniversary celebration of 'Lucio Dalla', the homonymous album by the Bolognese singer-songwriter, the video of the song 'The coming year' that every New Year moves us and gives us hope.

A year of celebrations that ends in the best way after the release of 'Lucio Dalla - Legacy Edition' with 3 songs in the unreleased version: 'Angeli' in the studio version, 'Stella di mare' in English and the song 'Ma come fare i marinai' feat. Francesco De Gregori in the unedited version recorded in the studio.

But 'The year to come' remains timeless and this New Year as well as singing out loud there 1979 song you will also be able to see the clip that introduces us to another time, the one in which letters were written with the typewriter.

The new video directed by Marco Pellegrino it tells precisely the minutes before midnight of the new year.

WATCH THE VIDEO:

“It's December 31st. There are a few minutes left for the start of the new year. The time for a song, the time for a man to write a long letter to himself. The time of a lifetime ”, explains Pellegrino in a press release.

The song arranged by Giampiero Reverberi, with Ron playing the piano, begins with "Dear friend, I am writing to you, so I get a little distracted" and Dalla himself explained several times in his long and intense career that "It is an important song because it imagines a situation of distance between me and a friend and to whom I make a detailed report of how we are living today: in the first part there is a mechanism of the game that allows me to exaggerate ".

Without forgetting the historical references: "We go out a little in the evening including when it's a holiday and there are those who have put sandbags near the window", thus recalling the terrorist attacks, Dalla sends a message of hope: "It will be three times Christmas and party all day, every Christ will come down from the cross even the birds will return (...) and without great disturbances someone will disappear, perhaps the too clever and idiots of all ages will be ”. And it will be the Bolognese singer-songwriter himself to say that he made 'a song that is not pessimistic, but without miracles'.

The Year That Will Come, text

Dear friend, I am writing to you
So I get a little distracted
And since you are very far away
Louder I will write to you
Since you left
There is a big news
The old year is over now
But something is still wrong here
We go out little in the evening
Including when it's a party
And there are those who have put sandbags near the window
And you go without speaking for weeks
And to those who have nothing to say about the time there is
But the television said the new year
It will bring about a transformation
And we are all already waiting
It will be Christmas three times and party all day
Each Christ will come down from the cross
And the birds will return too
There will be food and light all year round
Even the mute will be able to speak
While the deaf already do
And everyone will make love as they like
Even priests will be able to marry
But only at a certain age
And without major disturbances someone will disappear
Maybe they will be too clever
And jerks of all ages
See dear friend what I write and tell you
And how glad I am to be here right now
See, see, see, see
See dear friend what has to be invented
To be able to laugh at it
To keep hoping
And if this year then passed in an instant
See my friend how important it becomes
That in this moment there is me too
The year that is coming in a year will pass
I am getting ready
This is the novelty

The clip is already online, but will be screened on 10 January in the cinema hall of the Lucio Dalla Foundation in Bologna. What about a timeless masterpiece.
