Have you ever tried growing mushrooms at home? There are those who grow them in a drawer and those in a box, those who have started growing them at school and beyond. Now comes the coffeepot which allows you to reuse the coffee grounds for growing mushrooms.
Colombian designers Adrián Pérez and Mauricio Carvajal have created a special coffee maker dedicated to those who love coffee and mushrooms and to those who want recycle the coffee grounds for a small home grow.
The idea of using coffee grounds as a starting point for growing mushrooms is not new, but it seems that no one until now has ever thought of combining the two aspects in a single design tool and at the same time practical to use.

Coffee grounds are a suitable substrate for the formation of fungi. The new coffee maker is called HYFA, on the one hand it allows you to prepare coffee normally and on the other it separates the grounds from the drink to be able to reuse them for the cultivation of mushrooms.

To the coffee grounds must be added mycelium, the 'root' of the mushroom, you have to vaporize the coffee grounds with water from time to time and then you just have to wait to see the first mushrooms appear. The process is very similar to other kits for growing mushrooms at home but in this case you also have the possibility to prepare coffee with a single tool.
