Some call it Hachi, altri Huachi o Huachito. The reference is obviously to the famous Japanese dog Hachiko, because this faithful friend of the man who is in Cochabamba, Boliviahas been waiting for its human for five years right in the corner where the latter died in a car accident.

“It is about five years since he died in a motorcycle accident. The dog always came to the back and has stayed here ever since ", said to the Efe Román Bilbao Luján agency, the owner of a shop located a few meters away from the sad place where "Hachi" lost his master, a young student.

Every day the boy walked along the avenue with his motorbike, while the dog followed him, until one day he was hit by a taxi and died on the way to the hospital. Since then "Hachi" has lived here. He walks from corner to corner of the street every day. Every time a motorcycle passes by, it barks furiously. And then it always goes back to where the owner died.

His behavior obviously hit the people of the neighborhood straight to the heart. There are many who look after it, feed it and pamper it. Someone also tried to take him, like the family of the deceased, who took him home, on the other side of the city.

But, apparently, the nostalgia for "Hachi" is so great that every time he always managed to escape. He feels the need to go back to that corner, where perhaps he hopes to see his human friend go by on a motorbike again, just like in the old days. Remember him next time you exclaim "It's just a dog". What would the world be like if all people had the heart of this "simple" dog?
