Juan Carrito, also known as the M20 plantigrade, is a young man Marsican bear who lives in the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, and has already been the protagonist several times in events that have seen him approach the towns or the ski slopes of the area. One of the latest was the raid on one Roccaraso pastry shop where the huge mammal would have devoured dry biscuits.

Despite the incessant work of the forest police and park guards who are trying to change the bear's behavior causing him to be afraid of man and to spend his life in more boundless areas and away from urban agglomerations, the bear continues to make his appearances from time to time.

On New Year's Eve, another sighting of the bearded bear in the town would probably have been recorded if the barrels at the end of the year had not induced the bear, as well as many other animals, to flee in fear, holing up far away in the mountains of the park.

Le deafening explosions of the barrels and the powders of the fireworks make a real one every year all over the world slaughter of animals since they represent a considerable source of stress for animals, whether they are domestic or not.

Even the Carrito bear, sensitive to this noise, would have run away frightened without thinking twice.
