Have you ever thought of transform a box of crayons into… colorful jewels? Probably not: yet, following this idea, a young artist from the Czech Republic has managed to create an original, inexpensive and truly surprising jewelry line.
The protagonist of this story is the designer Anna Čurlejová who, with patience, precision and a lot of creativity, creates small works of art, all to be worn, starting with very common colored pencils. Each piece, rigorously assembled by hand, includes parts of pastels cut in different ways, held together by a clear lacquer, which makes the surface of each jewel smooth and shiny.
The result are earrings, rings, brooches and necklaces with bright colors and the most diverse and original motifs, marketed under the brand Čarbičková.
It might be a great idea for recycle colored pencil butts that have remained abandoned or at the bottom of our drawers!
