    Artist Claire Marie expresses her love for the ocean and nature by recycling used surfboards that become works of art

    The Welsh painter Claire Marie has made recycling of surfboards her art:

    I take old surfboards that have had their time in the ocean and are destined for landfill, and from them I create works of art

    explains Marie, who has lived near Perth in Western Australia for ten years.

    In addition to being beautiful, his paintings on second-hand boards have a value that goes beyond aesthetics: each piece is unique and evokes memories of certain places and events, imprinting the moments spent riding the waves.     I am passionate about the environment and sustainability, and by saving old surfboards from landfills, I am able to combine my passion for waste reduction, art and my love for the ocean.

    As she tells on her website, Claire Marie has always loved art, especially drawing and painting. This passion led her to study visual arts. Her artistic career has since been diverse: she has always loved to paint on objects, from shoes to furniture. Working under the name "The Little Treasure Company", her popularity has grown slowly, but surely, over the past 10 years thanks to social media.
