That's why your dog has that irresistible expression, scientists reveal what's behind his

It is not just a tender way of observing you to get what you want, that expression so sweet that it conquers you in nothing, making you feel even a little guilty, it is a fact of anatomy and evolution of the animal, as shown by the experts

If you too can not say no in front of those deep and sweet eyes that look at you softening you, then do not worry because you are not the only one. All dog owners know that expression and if you are wondering why, well you have to keep in mind the evolution of the animal and its anatomy that explains why your four-legged friend is able to conquer you with a just a look, or a little more.

This was revealed by a recent research conducted by a team of experts from Duquesne University, led by Professor Dr. Anne Burrows, who had already investigated the facial anatomy of dogs in previous years, publishing a study about it. The researchers focused on the study of the muscle fibers that give rise to facial expressions, both in us humans, as well as in dogs and wolves. They are in fact i myosin protein filaments to generate the contractions of the face. In all three species these are "fast twitch", but while we can't hold their expressions for long, dogs - more than wolves - are able to communicate faster with humans, having a increased facial mobility.

For over 33.000 years, dogs and wolves have been domesticated and their muscles have evolved and perfected over time based on the will of mankind, although the two species diverged sharply at the origins. In the course of their evolution, wolves have nevertheless retained muscle fibers with slower movements, which are essential to meet communication needs such as howling.

Dogs have evolved to give us "sweet eyes"

The research, presented these days at the Experimental Biology conference of the annual meeting of the American Association for Anatomy, intends to deepen the human-dog interaction and, again from an anatomical point of view, to discover other important differences between dogs and wolves.
