Black tea contains a very high amount of caffeine: between 64 and 112 milligrams (mg) per 8 fluid ounce (fl oz) serving. Black tea contains no calories, fat, protein, fiber, vitamins or sugar. Like other types of tea, it contains flavonoids, phytochemicals, flavonols, theanine and antioxidant properties that are beneficial to health.

Black tea has several benefits, including greater mental alertness, thanks to the presence of caffeine; reduces the risk of heart attack; it helps to increase blood pressure in people with low blood pressure and reduces the chance of ovarian cancer.

Oolong tea

Oolong tea contains between 29 and 53 mg of caffeine per 8 fl oz serving. This particular type of tea contains the antioxidant EGCG, an excellent ally for losing weight. Oolong tea also helps lower cholesterol, thereby lowering the risk of heart disease.

Green tea

In green tea we find an amount of caffeine that varies between 24 and 39 mg per 8 fl oz serving. Studies have revealed how green tea, probably thanks to polyphenols, has anti-carcinogenic properties for skin cancer and can help in the chemoprevention phase. Green tea is also useful for treating inflammatory conditions of the skin and to reduce the risk of deterioration of one's cognitive abilities.

White tea is among the 4 that contains the least amount of caffeine. The caffeine here ranges between 32 and 37 mg per 8 fl oz serving. It is a less elaborate type of tea which therefore retains antioxidants longer.
