Il solar thermal of the future will be a variable transparency and color change to ensure a more efficient energy production. It is SunIsMore, the new multifunctional solar thermal system already patented and selected as innovative idea in the cleanthec sector on the occasion of Start Cup Puglia 2012, finishing in 2nd place.

Usable for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional customers, the new solar panel is capable of producing DHW, heat the rooms, produce heat in industrial processes, but it can also provide shading systems and heat production for agricultural greenhouses, it can be used for internal partitions with transparency and iridescent color and for external shading systems.

How does it work? The solar panel can be used as building envelope and darkens in the presence of the sun to become transparent when necessary. This is her secret, replacing the opaque elements of traditional systems. Here's how: first the system is activated in the presence of the sun with the introduction of a colored fluid inside the cavities of the transparent plate.

In a second moment, the latter becomes opaque and the sunlight directly heats the thin sheet of absorbing fluid. Then the outermost layers eliminate convection and conduction heat losses resulting in a panel with high energy efficiency which allows to absorb thermal energy, limiting losses even with high thermal jumps. Finally, in the absence of radiation or when it is not necessary, the sheet becomes transparent again and allows the passage of light.

What are the benefits? In addition to the pleasant aesthetic aspect linked to the transparent surfaces, the new thermal solar panels boast the simplicity of the hydraulic system for which expensive operating components are not necessary, the elimination of antifreeze additives and a longer life span compared to natural circulation collectors. .

Furthermore, according to its makers, when used as curtain wall, the system can reduce the amount of solar radiation hitting the building and the amount of internal heat storage. Not least, all system components are completely recyclable.
