Kennels made from recycled materials with photovoltaic roof for stray dogs. Some students of the group made them for an association that takes care of strays in Santo Domingo ReVark Collective, which studies and designs sustainable d applications. The animals of the shelter Ghetto2Garden, in this way, they not only have shelter, but can also take advantage of the sunlight to illuminate and heat the rooms.

The shelter was designed to integrate with each other cubes previously used for shipping liquid materials. The idea is not bad at all, since the streets are not the most suitable habitat for animals to live. Ghetto2Garden, which takes care of 50 dogs and 10 cats with reduced potential for adoption, deformed, blind, unwanted, elderly, terminally ill animals, will now be able to use adequate shelter for 6 cats and 40 dogs.

Inside the recycled and renewable energy facility these doubly unlucky strays can live the rest of their days in peace and happiness. The involvement of students arises precisely from the attempt to bringsustainable construction and clean sources with low CO2 emissions directly in the construction of the shelter.

Interestingly, the solar panel is larger than the cube roof, shading the doghouse and the area in front of it. And producing 200 watts per solar roof.
